Textra: Unsent group message wont let me add more recipients

While I’m not an Android fanboy, I do have a strong dislike for Apple products, mostly because of software choices that strip users and administrators of flexibility and power. That said, I found myself disappointed for similar reasons with the native texting app provided by my flavor of Android. A friend recommended using the Textra app, and after a trial run I decided to buy the pro version. It’s quite good, and I highly recommend it.

That having been said, I ran into an issue and a solution for it that might be helpful to others.

I started writing a group message – added several people, then started adding content – but was unable to add more recipients. A quick search found the solution:

Thanks CH! Your workaround *does* work, however contorted.

To summarize:

1) Rename the Conversation by clicking down-arrow on the right edge, then the pencil icon. Call it anything.
2) Hit back to get to the Conversation List, create a new message (text icon in lower right), and type the first couple of letters of the newly renamed Conversation. Select the Conversation from the Conversation List.
3) *NOW* you have what we should’ve had all along! Click the +(person) icon in the To field and add as many people as you want.

I followed the above steps, and presto change-o, I can now add Bob, Robert, and Robb to my Bob’s your Uncle group message.
