The quick way to minimize the current window in Windows 10 (and 11) is Win+down-arrow
But for some reason, Chromium starts tiling. First half screen, then quarter size, then minimized.
For some things, that might be a nice option. But I most frequently want it minimized immediately.
So, a workaround is to use alt+space+n.
This works great.
Unless you’re using Windows PowerToys, which hijacks the alt+space shortcut for its launchbar/search feature.
An easy and logical fix is setting the launchbar to win+space.
This is akin to OSX’s Alfred, which uses cmd+space, or KDE’s plasma app launcher which uses your meta key.
In any case, it feels like there’s some underlying UI reason why this happens in Chromium (and curiously, not in Chrome). If you know, please comment!
